How to Make Pillows Out of Dresser Scarves

    • 1). Fold the dresser scarf in half along its length, so the two ends are matched. Fit your sewing machine with thread that matches the color of the dresser scarf.

    • 2). Feed the left edge of the folded dresser scarf into the sewing machine, 1/4 inch from the edge of the fabric. You can also sew over the existing hem line, if it is placed where you want it. Feed it into the sewing machine folded end first, working toward the open end.

    • 3). Repeat with the other side of the folded scarf. You will then have three closed sides: the two sides you've sewn together and the folded end.

    • 4). Stuff cotton pillow stuffing into the open side. You can also use down feathers. Continue until the pillow has the firmness you want.

    • 5). Feed the open end into the sewing machine, 1/4 inch from the edge or along the existing hem.
